Point of Rocks to Harpers Ferry

Ride leader: Wilson Mann, wheels rolling at 8:30am.

We will meet at the Point of Rocks Boat Ramp parking next to the Point of Rocks Marc Train Station at 8:00am and start our ride at 8:30.

Directions: Take 15/340 South and exit onto Rout 28 (last exit before Virginia) or Clay St. Make the second right onto Monroe St, follow it around and turn right on Commerce St, then turn left on Canal St. Be careful crossing the train tracks, and down to the parking lot. Ride Details: The ride will take us along the C&O Canal Path, and is about 24 miles total. Hybrid bikes are a good choice for this ride. We’ll pass Brunswick and stop at the stairs that lead up to the train tracks, lock our bikes on the bike racks, and walk into Harpers Ferry.

We’ll stop for an hour or so to walk around Harpers Ferry, maybe get some ice cream, then ride to Brunswick for lunch at Box Car Burgers, 12 S Maple Ave. On the ride back in Brunswick, turn left and ride up the hill, pass the parking lot, and Box Car Burgers is on the right before Potomac St. A shorter ride option is from Point of Rocks to Brunswick, 8 miles round trip.
