#1 Bike Ride Western Maryland Rail Trail

On Saturday, March 26, the Frederick Ski Club ride goes to the Western Rail Trail in Hancock, Md. We will meet in the parking lot/ boat ramp on the C&O canal.

Directions:  Travel west on 70 to exit #3 (Rt. 144) into Hancock.  Proceed to the traffic light at Penn. Ave and make a left, pass the Rail Trail and C&O Bike Shop, turn right, go a few yards to a left across the bridge over the C&O Canal. Proceed to C&O boat ramp/parking lot area.

We will meet at 9:30 am and start the ride soon after.  Its about a 45 minute drive from Frederick.  We will ride west on the paved WRT to the end at of the Trail before the wooden ramp about 12 miles out and return for a total of 24 miles.  This paved path is great for road or hybrid bikes, shaded in areas with a very slight incline.  Please advise/ RSVP if you plan on riding so we don't leave anyone behind.
