Welcome Spring Hike

Meet at 9:30 in the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Visitor Center Parking Lot

At this location is also the park’s Visitor Center and starting point for the shuttle bus service to Lower Town. 

We will ride the shuttle bus to Lower Town. If you won’t ride a shuttle meet us there. Hike will start from this point at 10:00 am.

There are two options:

(1) Maryland Heights Overlook, 4.5 mi, 1100 ft elevation gain, 3 hours

(2) Maryland Heights Overlook including Stone Fort, 6.5 mi, 1500 ft elevation gain, 4 hours

We could form two groups and meet at the Maryland Heights Overlook, beautiful spot above the town, where Shenandoah River joins Potomac.

After the hike you may want to explore Historic Town of Harpers Ferry.

NOTE: Pets are not allowed on park shuttle buses or in park buildings, however dogs are allowed in the park and on the trail but must be kept on leash.
