Ride and Glide Leader:  Michelle Apple

Ride and glide with us on Saturday, August 15th at Gunpowder Falls State Park.  We will meet at 8:30 am at the Monkton Station parking lot at 1820 Monkton Road in Monkton, MD and ride to the Mason Dixon line for a total of approximately 20 miles RT.  Sorry for the early start but the Monkton Station parking lot is SMALL and fills quickly on weekends. 

This rail trail is an easy ride of fine crushed gravel.  After the ride, we will walk across the street to Monkton Bike & Tube where we will cool off floating down the Gunpowder River.  Tube rentals are $30.00.  After getting our tubes, there is a 15 minute walk back up the NCR trail to the put-in point. 

After an approximate 1.5 hour float, we will exit the river for a 3 minute walk back to the rental shop.  You are certainly welcome to bring your own tube.  Additionally, you don't have to do the float, you can end or extend your bike ride. 

After our float, we will have lunch at the little cafe at Monkton Station.
